As the audience knows well, our school is minimalist in its infant years in that it adds one grade each year. With this system, the first sophomore class will be the first graduating class.

Being that I myself am in the class of 2019, I get an intriguing perspective of what it’s like to be one of the school’s leaders.

Even as sophomores, the class of 2019 led well. I was amongst my peers in a unique situation. The class of 2019 were the ones to build the school; we are still building it to this day, and will continue to after graduation as proud alumni of this wonderful academic establishment.

However, the majority of the lowerclassmen have gotten little attention as leaders of the school this year. As the grades are added, it seems that the lower grades will be forgotten as the foundation of Saint Michael. To circumvent this situation, we the journalists (and pupils) of our school have unanimously voted to henceforth push out as much content including lowerclassmen as we will with the upperclassmen. With this resolution, we hope to give the future freshmen and sophomores a stronger sense of identity with our school and fuel their fire to help build a better education and student-life for all.

In this infant Journalism and Public Speaking class, we the writers, photographers, editors, videographers, and leaders strive to inform, enlighten, and inspire the St. Michael student body with honest and unbiased updates on school news and events. As the years go on, I hope to see our student body, as well our Journalism organization, mature with knowledge, wisdom, and an overall understanding of current events.
